A saint is one who is born
again. One who has made Jesus Christ the Lord of his life. One whom Jesus has
delivered from the kingdom of darkness and its power into his own kingdom: the
kingdom of light.
The word saint actually
means the sanctified one or holy one.
A saint is not one who has
never committed sin or one who does not commit sin. No! A saint is one who has
been chosen/called and sanctified by God.
To be sanctified means to be set apart for something.
So a saint is one who has been
chosen/ called and set apart by God for God’s purpose.
Let’s see what the book of
Romans 1:3-7 said about sainthood,
Concerning his Son
Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the
flesh; 4 And
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of
holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace
and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: 6 Among whom
are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: 7 To all that be in Rome, beloved
of God, called to be saints:
It is our answer to the
call of Jesus Christ that made saints out of us. Our answer to the call of
salvation in the name of Jesus Christ is what made us saints. This is what made
us God’s chosen people. God made us
an offer, we accepted and He made us His beloved.
Then Ananias
answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to
thy saints at Jerusalem:
Acts 9:13
The phrase thy saints connote your chosen; those
whom God has called unto Himself. These are people whom God has chosen and
separated unto Himself to show forth His glory.
“Thy saint at Jerusalem”
means those who have believed in the name of Jesus Christ at Jerusalem.
The saint nature of these
people is not of their making. There are not accorded saints by their works or
deeds. No! Their sainthood is a result of their being children of God. Their acceptance of the nature of God: the
Holy, through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and they became His chosen
people called to manifest who He is.
In the book of Isaiah 54:17, He says …and their righteousness is of me, says the
LORD.
The righteousness of
saints is not theirs. They aren’t saints because of what they did or are doing.
They are saint because they accepted the offer of sainthood.
You don’t become a
professional just because you studied a course. You become a professional
because you accepted the certificate of the profession. If you reject the
certificate of a profession, no matter who taught you and where you were
taught, you are not a professional of the said course. If you are caught
practicing, you will be jailed because you are an impostor; a quack.
You will not be a quack
saint in the name of Jesus Christ. Say with me, am not a quack saint and will
never be in the name of Jesus Christ.
No weapon that is
formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise
against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the
servants of the LORD, and their righteousness
is of me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah
54:17
When your righteousness is of God, His
inheritance becomes yours. You become a partaker of the treasure of the kingdom
of God. But when your righteousness is of your works, you have no part in God’s
inheritance.
But ye are a
chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that
ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness
into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:9
We are a people called out
from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light through Jesus Christ to
show forth the praise of God. We are a holy nation before our holy acts can be
counted. We were called forth first before we could show God’s praise. We are
called into the holy nation of God to show forth the praise of God’s holiness
not our own.
Until you are called out
into the kingdom of God, you can’t show forth God’s praise.
We trust you have been
blessed by this message and you want to become a saint of God to show forth the
praise of His holiness. We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your
life now by making the prayer below.
Prayer of salvation
We believe you have been blessed by
this message. We invite you to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life by
saying this prayer audibly:
Oh Lord God, I believe with my entire
hearth in your son Jesus Christ. I believe He died for me and You raised Him
from the dead. I believe He is alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus
Christ is the Lord of my life from today. Through Him and in His name I have
eternal life.
I am born again. Thank you Lord. I am
now a child of God. Praise God!
Congratulations! You are now a child
of God. To receive more information on how you can grow as a Christian, camp
