BORN AGAIN EXPOUNDED

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:3

New birth in Christ (born again) is the only access route to the kingdom of God. If one must see the kingdom of God, such a person must be born again. Born again not only take a person to the kingdom of God, it confers on such a person the ability to see spiritual things.

The scriptures speaking in 1^st Corinthians 2:14 says,

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

It takes spirituality to discern spiritual things. At born again our spiritual senses are reborn to know and receive spiritual things. We are equipped for the life in the spirit through born again.

One must be in a place to see what is going on there as well as such have the ability to pick up information in such a place. For one to see the kingdom of God, such a person must be in heaven and also have the ability to pick up heavenly signals or knowledge.

Born again does not only take us to the kingdom of God, it also restores our spiritual senses to be able to pick up and process spiritual signals. We know that the kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom. For the scriptures say,

God is Spirit

John 4:24.

And as such, He lives in a spiritual kingdom. So for us to enter and see things in God’s kingdom (spiritual), we must acquire spiritual senses. The only way we can acquire these spiritual senses is through the process of spiritual birth (born again)

Every man is born into the world with the abilities to be able to live on earth as well as pick up and process earthly information.

In the same way, through the process of born again we are translated into the kingdom of God and also transformed into the nature of God to be able to adapt in His kingdom.

What is born again?

It is important we define this concept properly in other to be able to comprehend its benefits in the life of a believer.

A critical look at the phrase “born again” shows that it is made up of two important words; born and again. We will be considering these two words both individually and collectively in our definition for better understanding.

The word “born,” means to come out of your mother’s body at the beginning of your life. This is in the physical perspective.

However, the spiritual perspective means to come out of the body of God at the beginning of your life.

“Again” on the other hand means one more time. That is, to repeat this process one more time.

The phrase “born again” therefore means to come out of the body of God one more time. 

The again in born again which means one more time connote that this experience has happened to man before. This is a repeat of what has happened to him before. It is not a new experience. It has happened before. We are having it repeated.

Let us see what Nicodemus said about born again.

Nicodemus said unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

John 3:4

Nicodemus asked Jesus, “How can a man be born when he is old?” He couldn’t comprehend the idea of a man being born again because he knew that for a man to be born again, such a man must have been born before and died to be born again.

You can’t be alive and be born again. The “again” in the phrase “born again” indicates that the person born again was first born and died, then given birth to again.

Nicodemus could not comprehend such idea; how can one be born, then die and be reborn. So he removed the again thinking Jesus made a mistake in his choice of words. But Jesus continued repeating “born again” in their conversation to show Nicodemus that it was neither a mistake nor an error due to lack of words for expression.

Nicodemus continued, “Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”

This man probably pictured a grown up man whom Jesus said must be born again. He said Jesus wait, you don’t have to kill this man and put him in his mother’s womb to be again born. Let us trying getting him into his mother’s womb alive first, if he survives and come out alive good. But how can we make him get into his mother’s womb alive first? That is the big question Jesus.

Nicodemus saw born again as a physical birth, so Jesus had to explain to him the process of born again.

Jesus answered, verily, verily I say unto you, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 3:5

Except the Spirit of God which dwells in the word of God (water) re-enters into man, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. The Spirit of God is the medium through which man accesses the kingdom of God.

Therefore, if you are here and you are not born again or you are not sure if you are, this is a good opportunity to be born again.

 Say this prayer with me from the depth of your heart with all sincerity of heart.

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Oh Lord God, I believe with my entire hearth in your son Jesus Christ. I believe He died for me and You raised Him from the dead. I believe He is alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from today. Through Him and in His name I have eternal life.

I am born again. Thank you Lord. I am now a child of God. Praise God!

Heavenly Father, thank you for this one you have saved from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of your dear son – Jesus Christ. This one shall not be lost again in the name of Jesus Christ. Father keep and preserve this one in your love in Jesus name.

Having changed nationality from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light (Colossians 1:13), I decree every activities of darkness over your life destroyed by the power of the Light of Christ (John 1:4 ; 8:12) in the name of Jesus Christ. For the Light of Christ shines in darkness and darkness withstands it not (John 1:5). From today, you are free from all oppressions of darkness in the name of Jesus Christ. Congratulations! You are now a child of God.

 CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER

Father thank you for this one you have brought here today. I decree from today, your shame is turn to glory in the name of Jesus Christ. Whatever you lost or was taken from you is declared restored in the name of Jesus Christ.

From today as a child of God, your life is become one of forward and upward progress in the name of Jesus.

Every sickness in your body is cursed right now in the name of Jesus Christ. The Spirit of God that gave birth to you swallows up every death in your body in Jesus name. I declare you healed in Jesus name. Amen!
